Biography

Rich Amiri, born Elijah Policard on February 6, 2004, in Boston, Massachusetts, is a rising American rapper, singer, and songwriter. He grew up in Randolph, a suburb of Boston, and began his music career in high school, recording tracks using GarageBand and Apple headphones. Amiri started uploading his music to SoundCloud in 2020, quickly gaining attention for his unique blend of melodic rap and autotuned vocals. Influenced by artists like Future, Speaker Knockerz, Lil Keed, and YoungBoy Never Broke Again, Amiri developed a style that combines elements of trap, pluggnb, and rage rap. His early tracks, such as "Never Fail," showcased his ability to craft emotionally resonant songs with catchy hooks. In 2022, Amiri released his debut EP, Chase, followed by his first studio album, For the Better. He continued to build his discography with albums like Evolution (2023) and Ghetto Fabulous (2023), the latter featuring the viral hit "One Call," which debuted at number 79 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned a Gold certification from the RIAA. Amiri's most recent album, War Ready (2024), represents a significant evolution in his artistry. The project blends trap, R&B, and psychedelic influences, drawing inspiration from artists like Tame Impala and Future. Themes of resilience and personal growth are prevalent throughout the album, with tracks like "Madonna & Rihanna" and "Count My Bandz" highlighting his versatility.
